Beloit, Wisconsin
⚾ Beloit Sky Carp
Just a stone’s throw from the Illinois border, ABC Supply Stadium is Wisconsin’s newest minor league facility. The ballpark, which seats around 3,850, opened in the middle of the 2021 season and provides an intimate setting along the peaceful Rock River for fans to catch some High-A ball.
The modish venue replaced the previous home of Beloit baseball at Pohlman Field, a simple bleacher-style park on the other side of town. From that stadium’s debut in 1982 until the opening of ABC Supply, all of the city’s minor league contests had taken place at Pohlman, which was of a similar capacity to its successor on Shirland Ave.

Landing in Rock County in 1982, Beloit’s baseball team began life as the simply the Brewers, sharing a name with the Major League club with which they enjoyed affiliation until 2004. They would rebrand to the Snappers in 1995 and carried this name over to their new digs at ABC Supply Stadium in 2021. By the start of the next season, the franchise was rechristened as the Sky Carp, a cheeky nicknamed for the geese often seen flying high above Wisconsin. The Sky Carp are presently affiliated with the Miami Marlins, with their neon blue and pink color scheme reflecting that partnership.
With their parent club about as far culturally from Wisconsin as you can get, the Sky Carp’s ballpark is influenced much more by the local tradition and cuisine present in both America’s Dairyland and metro Chicago. Despite its small size and impact, ABC Supply Stadium features an insane variety of concessions, serving up everything from Italian beef sandwiches and cheese curds to Chicago dogs and brats. State fair food is also present, featuring items like funnel cake fries and ribs on a stick. There’s even boozy desserts on tap.

Despite being the third or fourth smallest market in MiLB, depending on which metric you use, Beloit is a staple of the Midwest League – both as a team and a ballpark. With eight division titles and the 1995 league crown under their belt, the Sky Carp are no stranger to success. And with a spiffy new stadium also helping to draw folks in, it’s clear that baseball belongs in Beloit.
