Erie, Pennsylvania, situated on the Great Lake of the same name, is known as the Flagship City and boasts more than a quarter of a million people. Plenty of premier events come through the city each year, with most happening at Erie Insurance Arena in downtown. Minor league baseball has been a quintessential part of summer in the Upstate since the 1960s, with both Greenville and Spartanburg hosting a number of teams throughout their history. Old Dominion University has been part of the sports fabric of the Hampton Roads region since it was established nearly a century ago. Although football is generally the more popular collegiate sport, ODU's basketball men and women are often the most exciting teams to watch. Once called the Ballpark of the Year, Truist Stadium in downtown Winston-Salem has served as the reliable and lively home of the Dash since it opened in 2010. The venue replaced David F. Couch Ballpark, formerly known as Ernie Shore Field, as the home of minor league baseball in the city and offered fans a more modern, accessible gameday experience. The High-A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox, the Dash continue to draw some of the best crowds in the circuit, filling up their 5,500-seat ballpark all throughout summer. Read more >

Located in the heart of Jacksonville's sports district, VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena opened in 2003 as the region's preeminent entertainment venue. The arena has played host to dozens of events such as wrestling, boxing, basketball, indoor football, lacrosse and even tennis, but was designed primarily for concerts and hockey. Opened in 1989 as a barebones ballpark with bleachers made of metal and concrete, Virginia Tech's English Field at Atlantic Union Bank Park has been the reliable home of the hammerin' Hokies for almost 40 years.
