The parcel of land at the corner of Ferst and Fowler has been an important one for the Georgia Tech baseball program, serving as its home grounds since 1930. Although the site has undergone many changes and rebuilds over the last century, it has persisted as a unique and underrated facility for “Beesball” and their buzzing fanbase.

The Yellow Jackets’ ballpark was originally known as Rose Bowl Field, having been financed by the football team’s reward for winning the 1929 Rose Bowl. After a variety of seating arrangement changes in the ’70s and ’80s, the stadium was overhauled in 2002, resulting in an all-new structure and game experience.

Another upgrade in 2020 saw the addition of the Champions Hall structure on the third base side, a club area complete with a lounge, dining space and premium seating area. Other improvements prior to that spring season brought the ballpark to its current capacity of just over 3,700.

Behind Champions Hall is a walkway brimming with GT baseball history, highlighted by “Legends of Omaha” plaques that pay homage to the outstanding Ramblin’ Wreck players who helped the team reach the College World Series on several occasions. Georgia Tech leaders are also honored in this area, notably head coach Danny Hall, whose time at the helm brought about some of the team’s biggest successes and furthest advancements.

The Jackets have made three College World Series appearances, finishing as the national runner-up to Oklahoma in 1994, and getting ousted by Clemson during their 2002 and 2006 runs. To this day, the team remains a powerful force in the ACC and will no doubt continue to wreck any competition that dares enter their home ground in the shadow of the Midtown Atlanta skyline.
