📍 Dayton, Ohio
⚾ Home of the Dayton Dragons
Home to what is undeniably the best Minor League Baseball experience at any level, Dayton’s Day Air Ballpark has been a staple in the southwest Ohio community for more than 25 years. From the very start, the downtown facility has been selling out home games for the High-A Dragons, making for a minor league gameday atmosphere like no other.
Day Air Ballpark holds a little over 8,000 people, which it has on a nightly basis since its inception in 2000, selling out every game in Dragons history. The park even has upper deck seating, which is very rare at the High-A level. The 360-concourse, multiple standing room areas, berm seating and built-in craft brewery spots only encourage the feeling that you’re at a Triple-A venue. In addition to Dragons home games, the ballpark has also hosted the Atlantic 10 Conference Tournament on several occasions.

Recording nearly 1,500 consecutive sold out games – the most in any pro sport in America – the Dragons are a fan-friendly powerhouse. With both on- and off-field antics and promotions, as well as engaging chants and songs, the Dragons put on a nightly entertainment spectacle. From “Roofman” throwing down soft-sided baseballs from the canopy of the seating bowl, to the smoke-breathing dragons mounted atop the outfield scoreboard that signal a home team home run, there’s never really a dull moment.

While everything surrounding the team is more than top-notch, the Dragons themselves have struggled a bit on the diamond. They’ve made the playoffs several times, clinching 3 division titles – but the club is still soaring after their first Midwest League championship. The franchise – originating out of Rockford, Illinois before relocating to the Gem City at the turn of the century – has been affiliated with the Cincinnati Reds ever since their arrival in Ohio.
Yet despite all of the energy and craziness that the team has created, the Dragons also respect the game of baseball and provide a relaxing environment during gameplay – the way baseball should be. Overall, it’s a well-executed dynamic atmosphere that almost resembles that of college football.
