📍 North Augusta, South Carolina
⚾ Home of the Augusta GreenJackets
Longtime home of the iconic Masters Tournament, the city of Augusta, Georgia, is synonymous with the sport of golf. However, the city’s sports scene is more than just fairways and sand traps, and it’s minor league baseball’s Augusta GreenJackets that have acted as the region’s premier summer entertainment since their arrival in 1988. Now playing across the river in neighboring South Carolina, the team can be found captivating crowds at the beautiful and contemporary SRP Park.
Coming from nearby Macon, the GreenJackets played their first few seasons at tiny Heaton Stadium, which was later redeveloped into the more permanent Lake Olmstead Stadium. That venue opened in 1995 and held around 5,000 fans, serving the team well until their departure for new digs across state lines in 2018. Christened SRP Park and located in North Augusta, South Carolina, the GreenJackets experience soared to new heights with the opening of their state-of-the-art ballpark.

Situated in a marshy area along the picturesque Savannah River, SRP Park is a true minor league gem. The stadium is part of a much larger multi-million dollar redevelopment project and has helped revitalize the North Augusta riverfront as the anchor of this new mixed use district. Like their former home, SRP Park has a capacity of around 5,000 and features all the modern amenities that fans have come to expect, from luxury suites and club seating to a plethora of local food and beverage options.
Those in the area behind home plate are privileged with a full-service food experience, with staff taking orders and delivering them right to the seats, while the rest of the stadium lines up at one of the many concession stands to get their hands on some of the unique items available. Among the offerings are bratwursts, polish sausages, Sahlen hot dogs, boiled peanuts, craft cocktails, donuts, churros, funnel fries and even alcohol-infused ice cream. Additionally, attached to the ballpark is a Mexican restaurant called Rio Cantina, which is accessible from outside the gates but opens up to the stadium concourse for folks to catch a glimpse of the action.

With a name that ties in to a long-standing Masters tradition, the GreenJackets certainly play every golf-themed angle they can. It starts with a complimentary golf cart ride from one of the nearby parking decks and continues as you walk through the sleek, white-paneled entrance into the stadium itself. The team has also done a tremendous job of providing a fun, unique gameday atmosphere. There’s the “Dancing Drag” grounds crew that waltzes their way across the infield as they drag it; the Tomahawk Chop, a trickle-down chant that often echoes through the air and is a staple in Braves Country; and, of course, an awesome LED light strip around the suite level, which glows green (and other colors) all throughout the night.
A former pit stop in the San Francisco Giants organization for 16 years, the GreenJackets have won 4 South Atlantic League championships, though they have competed in the Low-A Carolina League and been an affiliate of the Atlanta Braves since 2021. The team has also produced a number of standout Major League players – including Madison Bumgarner, Pablo Sandoval and Dustin Pedroia – and will undoubtedly remain a fixture in the minor league pipeline for decades.
